Artist Portfolio: Annette Visser, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Annette Visser comes to collage from the world of media and fashion where she worked as a journalist, producer, creative director, and model. She writes, “I stopped working as a graphic designer when the first Apple computer arrived: I prefer to work with scissors and real paper than to sit behind a computer.” To advance her collage, she joined Bob Bunck’s Collage Collective in Amsterdam.

Bob Bunck writes, “Annette Visser works with her fingers and scissors in a very free way. Her apparently subtle interventions can change an image completely. She is not looking for perfection, but is ripping and cutting, placing the elements right there where they should be. This seemingly simplicity results in intriguing images (partly figurative, often touched by abstraction), and so did not stay unnoticed by Dutch collectors.”
