A New Art Space in North Hollywood, California, USA

Self-taught artist Vakseen opened the first Black-owned brick-and-mortar art space in North Hollywood, California on 18 September 2021. The gallery, Vakseen Art, allows the public and collectors to see his work in person. Before focusing full-time on art, Vakseen was a multi-platinum music executive, producer, and songwriter. Vakseen’s art has been featured by major brands like Nike, Adidas, Vans, Bombay Sapphire Gin, and Tupac Shakur’s estate. His art has been shown in gallery exhibitions worldwide and multiple times at the LA Art Show, Think Space Projects, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, and Ontario Museum of History & Art, among others. His work has also been featured on HBO’s Insecure, FX’s Snowfall, FX’s Dave, and Colin Kaepernick’s new Netflix series, Colin in Black and White.
