2nd International Collage Days

at Espace Monet Rollinat in Fresselines, France
19 May-30 June 2021

The 2nd International Collage Days (2èmes Journées Internationales du Collage) at Espace Monet Rollinat features the work of thirty artists from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, France, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, and Spain.

Collage is old technique that over the years has become an art form, an intermediary between photographs, paintings, and other materials. During the heyday of Cubism, Dadaism, and the rise of Futurism in Italy, the collage medium underwent a significant transformation in response to the desire to produce works more quickly. “Art is a reflection of society,” says exhibition curator Stéphane Guibert. Historically, collage has always accompanied modernity. “Today students leave school with a devotion to the art of collage, which in turn gains momentum and popularity worldwide,” says Guibert.
