Salvaged Elements

COLLAGE ON VIEW

Salvaged Elements: Lili Francuz & Janice McDonald
at ReCreative Denver in Colorado, USA
7-28 December 2018

Opening reception: Friday, 7 December, 5-8PM

“Salvaged Elements” features the work of two Colorado artists who are committed to creating abstract collage works, composed of discarded papers and packaging, the detritus of our society. Using traditional methods (cut, tear, paste), Lili Francuz and Janice McDonald each have a very different and contemporary personal perspective that captures the innate beauty of simple materials, thoughtfully combined. Both continue to push the boundaries of their art-making practices, most recently working with more dimensionality and shaped supports. Their artworks are powerful from a distance and reveal more nuanced messages upon closer examination.
