Leah Dockrill: Collage Woman

at the Fairview Library in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
1-31 May 2019

In “Collage Woman”, Toronto artist Leah Dockrill reflects on a range of women’s experiences and self-perceptions dating from the Victorian era, through the 1950s to contemporary times. The artist explains that many of these pieces have been created with tongue-in–cheek, and others with a touch of the surreal. She hopes that they will be viewed with a sense of humour and empathy.

Leah Dockrill has been an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists since 2000. She has exhibited her paintings throughout Canada and the U.S. and has won numerous awards for her art. Several art and literature journals have published images of her works, both paintings and collages, in recent months. More of Leah’s work can be viewed at www.leahdockrill.net and on her Kolaj Magazine Artist Directory page.
