Artist Portfolio: Mieke Messer, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Mieke Messer owns a fashion company in the Netherlands and has been studying collage with Bob Bunck in Amsterdam the past six years. “Messer is a dancer, and a so-called theatre animal. She likes the stage, the scenes, and all its movements and she loves Bauhaus,” writes Bunck. The awareness of theatre, dance, and Bauhaus is apparent in Messer’s collage.

An Artist Portfolio of Mieke Messer’s work appears in KOLAJ #27.

Bunck writes, “The strength of her work is that daily life becomes theatre. She shows us that the world is a stage, and life is a theatre.”
